Hot Spring

Natural hot springs located in Jasper National Park featuring two large pools, a hot plunge, and a children's pool, with stunning views of the surrounding Fiddle Valley and Canadian Rockies.

Miette Hot Springs is a natural hot spring located in Jasper National Park in British Columbia, Canada. It is considered one of the top tourist destinations in the area, attracting visitors from all over the world.

The hot springs were first discovered in 1909 by a railway worker who noticed steam rising from the ground. The hot water is heated by geothermal activity deep beneath the Earth's surface, and it flows to the surface through a fault in the rock. The water temperature ranges from 37°C to 54°C (98°F to 129°F), making it one of the hottest springs in the Canadian Rockies.

The Miette Hot Springs complex was built in the 1930s and has since undergone several renovations and upgrades. Today, it features two large pools, a hot plunge, and a children's pool. The main pool is 40 meters (131 feet) long and 10 meters (33 feet) wide, with a maximum depth of 1.5 meters (5 feet). The water is kept at a comfortable temperature of around 40°C (104°F), making it perfect for soaking and relaxation.

The hot springs are surrounded by stunning scenery, including the Fiddle Valley and the Canadian Rockies. Visitors can enjoy a soak in the hot springs while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including bighorn sheep, elk, and deer.

Miette Hot Springs is open to visitors from May to October, and admission fees apply. The complex also features a restaurant, gift shop, and picnic area, making it a great destination for a day trip or weekend getaway.
