Placid Hot Springs

Placid Hot Springs, situated at coordinates 50.568646, -123.473878, can be reached by following the Upper Lillooet River Forest Service Road beyond the previous turnoff leading to Meager Creek Hot Springs. These springs are relatively small, even though the temperature of the source water ranges from 40°C to 60°C (104°F to 140°F). Some individuals contest the notion that these springs are truly hot.

This region served as a testing ground for geothermal exploration experiments. During this period, a couple of minor springs were discovered not far from Meager Creek Hot Springs. Due to their modest size and proximity, there isn't much opportunity for soaking in these springs, as Meager Hot Springs are conveniently nearby. If you continue along the gravel path beyond Meager Hot Springs in the direction of the creek named Hot Spring Creek, which feeds into Meager, you'll find warm water after walking for about half a kilometer. As you venture further upstream for a few hundred meters, you'll come across a couple more vents. Interestingly, these are believed to be the authentic Placid Hot Springs.
