Pool Creek Hot Springs

These springs are the smallest and hottest of three known to exist in the La Biche River area. They can be found on the south bank of the Beaver River, just a quick jaunt downstream from the mouth of Pool Creek, at 60°22.9'N, 125°34.2'W.

Hot, clear, odourless water low in dissolved minerals flows from the base of a steep bank into a small pool on the terrace just above the Beaver River. This pool is covered by green algae and has a partial crust of porous tufa.
