One of the hottest springs with a very formidable trek to reach, formerly partially developed but now unbathable.
Nestled in the rugged terrain of British Columbia, lies the enchanting Sheemahant Hot Springs, known to be one of the most remote and elusive hot springs on the coast. Accessible only by floatplane, visitors must first journey to the logging camp located at the mouth of the Sheemahant River on Owikeno Lake. From there, an arduous 10-kilometer trek along the Sheemahant River Road awaits, after a 2-kilometer drive north. Though the main bridge over the Sheemahant River still stands sturdy, the crossing over the creek on the path to the springs has been swept away, making it a challenging and treacherous adventure.
Regrettably, the soaking tubs are no longer available, and the water temperature is scorching, making it an unsuitable spot for a relaxing dip.

Detailed Directions
- Take a scheduled or charter air flight to the logging camp near the mouth of the Sheemahant River on Owikeno Lake.
- Follow the well-maintained gravel logging road that runs north from the camp.
- Drive for approximately 2 kilometers (1 mile) until you reach a turnoff on your right-hand side.
- Turn right onto the Sheemahant River Road.
- Travel for another 2 kilometers (1 mile) until you reach a river crossing where the road switches to the south side of the Sheemahant River.
- Keep following the Sheemahant River Road for approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles).
- You will eventually reach the hot springs.
