Hot Spring
A chunk of paradise along the shore.
At the entrance to the Tallheo Hot Springs there is scalding water surging and effervesceing from the earth. You'll stumble upon a group of springs roughly 200 meters north of the creek with algae-ridden bathing ponds that aren't exactly glamorous. However, the true marvels lie ahead, further north.
Here, the hottest water (up to 69°C (156°F)) and gas issue from cracks in the bedrock, offering a unique and awe-inspiring experience. The clear, odourless, and tasteless water has a low content of dissolved minerals, making it perfect for a soothing soak.
The main soaking pool is nestled in a little rocky hollow about 2 meters (6 feet) above the high-tide line and constructed of concrete and rocks. At about 2 meters by 3 meters (6 feet by 10 feet) and a depth of approximately a meter, the pool is the perfect temperature for relaxation. As you unwind in the soothing waters surrounded by the area's stunning natural beauty, your worries will melt away.
The picturesque pool is located on the edge of the ocean, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and inlet, making it an absolutely irresistible destination. It is such a beautiful spot, you may want to make an overnight trip of it by staying at the campsite just north of the springs.
